Dr. M. D. Sachidananda Murthy Memorial Educational Trust
By Dr. M. D. Sachidananda Murthy Memorial Educational Trust. An innovative plan to assist the vulnerable population during this crisis
Established in March 2013, the Dr. M. D. Sachidananda Murthy Memorial Educational Trust was founded with a dual mission: to educate and to heal. Under the leadership of Dr. Arjun Sachidanand (Founder Trustee) and Mr. Diwakar M. N. (Treasurer), the Trust began its work in the education sector and soon expanded into healthcare.
Over the years, the Trust has run a pre-school in Mysore called Bright Champs and provided free education for over 60 students, whilst organizing numerous charitable initiatives aimed at supporting the poor and underprivileged. One of its key projects is the Sudhanand Arogya Vahini, a mobile health initiative developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The project has served numerous rural areas with diagnostic services and continues to do so.
The Trust has now embarked on another, potentially life-saving project, called the CurePlus Blood Bank. It has the capacity to store 2,000 units of blood and will be able to provide it to many regions of Mysore, Chamajanagara, Hassan, Mandya, Kodagu and more.
